
If you’ve opened a newspaper, walked by a television, or visited the Google home page anytime in the last week, you probably already know that Sesame Street celebrates its 40th anniversary today. I hit the streets of Seattle with my friend Leigh this weekend, and we asked people to share their Sesame Street memories with us.

Probably the most important Sesame Street moment in my life was when the grocer Mr. Hooper died. Big Bird didn’t understand what death was, and the gang had to explain it to him. It still breaks my heart.
This is my new FAVORITE too cute image! It is going to replace the European Cross Spider that currently resides on my desktop.

My favorite characters were Sully and Biff – the construction dudes
